Safdarjung Hospital
New Delhi

Originally a base hospital during World War II for the allied forces, Safdarjung Hospital was transferred to the Government of India in 1954. It has grown from having only 204 beds to 1,531 beds, in addition to becoming a multi-disciplinary tertiary care center. The Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, established in 2001,  is located at Safdarjung Hospital and affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Delhi. Together, Safdarjung Hospital and VMMC provide training and education in various specialties and super-specialties, as well as quality and diverse medical treatment to all their patients.
