Our Mission The mission of Jiv Daya Foundation is to advance human welfare by making grants to develop and strengthen quality of life for people around the globe. We seek to address education, pediatric oncology treatment and support services, and training for physicians, nurses, and social workers to treat and cure children with cancer. Jiv Daya is based on the teaching of Jainism and it means "compassion to all living beings."

Pediatric Oncology in India Jiv Daya Foundation's primary focus is on pediatric oncology. We have a made a commitment to help develop widespread, accessible, high-quality pediatric oncology care in India. Over the next ten years, Jiv Daya Foundation plans to commit significant resources to partner with Institutions in India to help improve the infrastructure for providing care to children with cancer. Every year, 2 million children are diagnosed with cancer around the world. Sadly, the current survival rate for children with cancer in India is 10%. Treatment options for children with cancer in India are poor and limited, primarily due to inadequate chemotherapy and supportive care. Most children with cancer and blood diseases are still being treated by adult hematologists and oncologists. There are less than 100 physicians trained in pediatric oncology in the entire state of India. Pediatric Hematology and Oncology does not as yet claim a separate existence in many of India's medical colleges and hospitals.
Jiv Daya Foundation plans to provide assistance to this area of need through the execution of the India Pediatric Oncology Initiative (IPOI) to build capacity for the treatment of children with cancer in India.
By providing education and training for doctors, nurses and pharmacists in pediatric oncology, the India Pediatric Oncology Initiative will open doors to kids with cancer by sharing lifesaving knowledge with India. We plan to work with existing pediatricians to improve their training as well as provide training for new physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. The end results with be an enhanced infrastructure of existing pediatric cancer center by providing specialized training in sarcoma, retinoblastoma, and brain tumors.
Our Program Interests Jiv Daya Foundation aims to support efforts to strengthen pediatric oncology care, educational services for underprivelded children and adults, and women's empowerment initiatives.
