DR. AMIT PATEL, SENIOR MEDICAL GRANTS MANAGER 

Amit joined Jiv Daya Foundation in May 2014. He completed his Masters in Public Health in June 2011 at the University of California Los Angeles. He also earned a degree in Medicine from Smolensk State Medical Academy in Russia. Upon graduating from the UCLA School of Public Health, he worked for an organization that was involved in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic health conditions found   among South Asian communities in the United States. He aims to use his medical knowledge and experiences in public health to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Amit currently coordinates JDF's Amputee, Kala Azar, and Pallitative Care initiatives. Contact him at apatel@jivdayafound.org.

DR. Sonal Raut, MEDICAL GRANTS COORDINATOR 

Sonal joined Jiv Daya Foundation in August 2016. After completing her Master's degree in Business Administration from Symbiosis International University, she worked as a Healthcare Business Analyst for three years,  She practiced as a Physical Therapist, for a year at an Orthopedic Hospital after earning her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India. She is currently coordinating Maternal Health , Palliative Care and Amputee Assistance Initiatives and aims to improve quality of patient care provided to patients in India. Jennifer Lowe, India Grants Consultant

JLowe

Jennifer joined Jiv Daya Foundation in August 2012, following her graduation from Pitzer College with a Bachelors Degrees in Human Development and Sociology. In 2011 she studied abroad in Kathmandu, Nepal where she lived with a host family, studied Nepali, and conducted a research project on the situation of adoption and child trafficking. Jennifer consults for the Maternal Health and Pediatric Oncology Initiatives at JDF as well as he Foundation's other focus areas. Contact her at jlowe@jivdayafound.org.

 

INDIA OFFICE

Sanjeev Kumar, India Project Manager

Sanjeev began working as the India-based Project Manager for the India Amputee Assistance Initiative at JDF in 2013. He holds a degree and diploma in Prosthetics and Orthotics from JRHU and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi respectively. He has a vast experience of 21 years with BMVSS, the parent organization that has developed and promoted Jaipur foot technology in India and abroad. He aims to augment the IAAI project with his experience in appropriate low cost P&O technology, which he believes can potentially reduce the debilitating effect of disability besides restoring mobility with dignity, particularly in India. Contact him at skumar@jivdayafound.org.

 

Byju Kurian, India cancer project Officer

Byju Kurian joined Jiv Daya Foundation in April 2017. He completed his M. Phil in Social Work Practices in June 2005 at the University of Nagpur, Maharashtra. He also holds Post Graduate Certificates of Hospital Administration –RTMNU Nagpur, Age, Gender & Diversity Approach- UNHCR UK, Emergency Preparedness - American Red Cross and Social Enterprise- Eliademy. With over 11 years of experience in child and health care projects with national and international organizations, he is well-versed in project implementation, mentoring with experience and promoting teamwork.

Dr.Sarika Sane, Palliative Care project officer

Sarika joined JDF in July 2015 as the India Based Project Coordinator for the Palliative Care Initiative. She holds a BAMS degree from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, and was a praciticing palliative care doctor at TATA Memorial Hospital in Mumbai for four years. She currently oversees pending and active palliative care sites, providing hands-on training and support to JDF staff and Local Champions. Contact her at ssane@jivdayafound.org.

 

DR. Samita Bhardwaj, Maternal health Project officer

Samita joined JDF in May of 2016 as the India based Project Officer for the Maternal Health Initiative. She holds a MBBS degree from Grant Medical College and J.J., with post graduate diplomas in Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGO) and Hospital Management (PGDHA). She is an established clinician and public health professional, with over 15 years of experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health. Prior to JDF, Samita worked with the Avahan India AIDS Initiative by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as Family Planning Association of India. DR. PRIYANKA SINGH, PEDIATRIC ONCOLOGY PROJECT officer

Priyanka joined JDF in September 2016 as the India Based Project Manager for the India Pediatric Oncology Initiative. She earned her degree in Medicine from Smolensk State Medical Academy in Russia. After returning to India, Priyanka completed her post graduate diploma in Maternal and Child Health (PGDMCH) as well as an MBA in Hospital and Business Management. She has working experience as a practicing doctor in the humanitarian emergencies sector. 

Priyanka aims to improve outcomes and quality of life for pediatric cancer patients by adding a more humanitarian touch to modern medicine. Contact her at psingh@jivdayafound.org.  

 

sonia puri, Manager - Accounts & Administration

Sonia has worked in the finance and administration sector in variety of settings such as banking, pharmaceuticals, and health care for over 10 years. She holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce from Delhi University and an MBA in finance from Symbiosis University Pune, Before joining JDF in October 2016, she was a member of Unitron Hearing India Pvt. Ltd. At Jiv Daya, Sonia oversees staff monitoring, inventory & consumables management, accounting, and administrative duties.
