Amit joined Jiv Daya Foundation in May 2014. He completed his Masters in Public Health in June 2011 at the University of California Los Angeles. He also earned a degree in Medicine from Smolensk State Medical Academy in Russia. Upon graduating from the UCLA School of Public Health, he worked for an organization that was involved in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic health conditions found   among South Asian communities in the United States. He aims to use his medical knowledge and experiences in public health to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Sonal joined Jiv Daya Foundation in August 2016. After completing her Master's degree in Business Administration from Symbiosis International University, she worked as a Healthcare Business Analyst for three years,  She practiced as a Physical Therapist, for a year at an Orthopedic Hospital after earning her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India. She is currently managing our Maternal Health and Child Health Initiative and aims to improve quality of patient care provided to patients in India. Contact her at


Aashka Chaudhari, projectS COORDINATOR


Aashka joined Jiv Daya Foundation in October 2018, after receiving her Master’s in Public Health from Emory University. Previously, Aashka was working in the marketing field, having earned her bachelor’s degree in Advertising and New Media. After working in marketing for a children’s non-profit, she felt a sense of purpose and a calling to the field of global health. Aashka hopes to use her experiences and knowledge in both marketing and public health to improve health outcomes for children all around the world. Currently, Aashka works with Jiv Daya Foundation’s Eye Health Initiative, as well as JDF’s sister foundation, Shraman Foundation to develop marketing and media activities. Contact her at

Jennifer Lowe, India Grants Consultant


Jennifer joined Jiv Daya Foundation in August 2012, following her graduation from Pitzer College with a Bachelors Degrees in Human Development and Sociology. In 2011 she studied abroad in Kathmandu, Nepal where she lived with a host family, studied Nepali, and conducted a research project on the situation of adoption and child trafficking. Jennifer consults for the  Pediatric Oncology Initiatives at JDF . Contact her at



Sanjeev Kumar, India Project Manager


Sanjeev began working as the India-based Project Manager for the India Amputee Assistance Initiative at JDF in 2013. He holds a degree and diploma in Prosthetics and Orthotics from JRHU and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi respectively. He has a vast experience of 21 years with BMVSS, the parent organization that has developed and promoted Jaipur foot technology in India and abroad. He aims to augment the IAAI project with his experience in appropriate low cost P&O technology, which he believes can potentially reduce the debilitating effect of disability besides restoring mobility with dignity, particularly in India. Contact him at


Byju Kurian, India cancer project Officer

Byju Kurian joined Jiv Daya Foundation in April 2017. He completed his M. Phil in Social Work Practices in June 2005 at the University of Nagpur, Maharashtra. He also holds Post Graduate Certificates of Hospital Administration –RTMNU Nagpur, Age, Gender & Diversity Approach- UNHCR UK, Emergency Preparedness - American Red Cross and Social Enterprise- Eliademy. With over 11 years of experience in child and health care projects with national and international organizations, he is well-versed in project implementation, mentoring with experience and promoting teamwork. Currently focused on coordinating JDF’s Indian Pediatric Oncology and Palliative Care initiatives, contact him at

DR. Samita Bhardwaj, Maternal health ADVISOR

Samita joined JDF in May of 2016 as the India based Maternal Health Advisor for the Maternal Health Initiative. She holds a MBBS degree from Grant Medical College and J.J., with post graduate diplomas in Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGO) and Hospital Management (PGDHA). She is an established clinician and public health professional, with over 15 years of experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health. Prior to JDF, Samita worked with the Avahan India AIDS Initiative by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as Family Planning Association of India. Contact her at



Abhijit joined Jiv Daya Foundation in September 2011. He holds a Bachelors as well as a Masters in social work, as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Health from IIPH. When the foundation was formed, Abhijit was initially involved in expanding and managing the Foundation's projects in India. In 2016, he left to work with another international charity where he was was working on implementing their mHealth project targeting to improve the immunization rate in 16 states of India. He rejoined the Foundation in February of 2018 and is now primarily focused on the India Palliative Care Initiative (IPCI) project. Contact him at

Sanjiv Saigal is the project manager of the India Eye Health Initiative. With an ingrained commitment to providing access and opportunities for undeserved populations, Sanjiv looks forward to leading the growth and expansion of the India Eye Health Initiative (IEHI) by catering to the impoverished children and adults with refractive error in India. Prior to taking on his position at JDF, Sanjiv spent several years contributing to the cause of corneal blindness by facilitating corneal donation initatives at Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital in Delhi and Dr. Agarwa’s Eye Hospital group in Chennai. He is an experienced professional with an understanding of healthcare and pharmaceutical operations and marketing. He has worked extensively in most Indian states as well as the country of Nepal. Kanu Priya joined Jiv Daya Foundation in September 2018 as a project officer for our India Eye Health Initiative (IEHI). Kanu Priya has extensive knowledge and myriad experiences in the field of vision health. Having received her bachelor’s in optometry in 2011, Kanu Priya subsequently gained clinical experience through a one-year Clinical Internship at Dr. Shroff Charity Eye Hospital and continued to work with them thereafter. She also completed her master’s in Optometry from NIMS University – Jaipur, going on to work with the National Medical College, Birgunj, Nepal as well as Sonac sight care, Delhi. Kanu Priya’s specialty is in ophthalmic evaluation and diagnostics, refraction and contact lenses. She is also a life member of the Indian Optometric Association. Contact her at



Ashiwni Jadha joined Jiv Daya Foundation in January 2019 as Project Officer for our Maternal Health Initiative. She has extensive experience of 8 years in public health. Prior to joining JDF full time, she worked at LTMGH Sion Mumbai for 5 years from January 2013 to December 2018 under the JDF initiative. She has also worked for US based NGO Jhpeigo for family planning Project. She has completed her Bachelors in Sociology. Ashwini hope to use her knowledge and experience in Maternal Health to improve quality of life of mothers. Reach her at



Urvashi completed her Bachelor’s in Pharmacy in 2012 and attained an MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Services in 2016 from Sikkim Manipal University. Urvashi has gained 6 years of work experience in healthcare through positions at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute as well as BLK Hospital where she worked as a clinical pharmacist. In her current role, Urvashi is excited to be part of a team that works to ail the suffering of patients with cancer. In her role as the project officer and pharmacist for Jiv Daya’s Pediatric Oncology Initiative, Urvashi puts her best foot forward in providing pharmaceutical consultations and administrative support to the team.
