Site Overview
Tata Memorial Hospital is one of the largest cancer hospitals in India, serving over 43,000 patients from India and neighboring countries annually. Tata is an internationally recognized training center, with 400 students undergoing training in some capacity every year. Their pediatric ward sees over 1200 new patients annually.
Project Overview
The collaboration between Tata and JDF first started in August 2008. The Foundation funds salary support for a project coordinator, a research dietician and one nutritionist, an infection control nurse, three data entry operators, three social workers, and a pharmacist. JDF support has improved outcomes in treatment through interventions for infection control, combating malnutrition, and reducing abandonment rates through regular patient follow up and improved access to financial aid.

Dr. Arora is an Associate Professor in Pediatric Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital. He has done his post-graduation work in Pediatrics from Delhi University and has done his D.M. in Medical Oncology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
