Site Overview
Located about 70 kilometers from Delhi, this 350 acre university and hospital sees about 5,000 patients per day. The hospital has 1,266 beds, and offers various medical programs including nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, and ophthalmology. The pediatrics department has 150 beds, and eight of these beds are dedicated to pediatric oncology. The unit sees about 50 child cancer patients each year.

Project Overview
The Foundation supports a social worker through CanKids at PGIMS, who is responsible for mobilizing funds for patients through government schemes and NGOs. The center has seen the abandonment rate drop and the morale of the children increase since the social worker joined the team.

Dr. Pankaj Abrol:
Dr. Pankaj Abrol is the Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatrics Unit II at PGIMS. Dr. Abrol trained in pediatric oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital and is a consultant pediatric hematologist oncologist. He also is in charge of the Thalassemia Day Care.
