Site Overview
Founded 20 years ago, Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre (MMHRC) strives to provide quality care to the community at the lowest cost. The hospital is a large tertiary care hospital with 650 beds. The Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Division in the Pediatrics Department was opened in 2010, and saw about 75 new patients in the first year. The unit is equipped with 25 inpatient beds, 6 outpatient beds, a procedure room, and an anesthesia facility.

Project Overview
After establishing the pediatric oncology division at Meenakshi Mission, Dr. S. Jayabose identified a need for data management and infection control. Dr. Jayabose joined Jiv Daya Foundation in Delhi for the 3rd Annual IPOI meeting, and a partnership was formed. The Foundation is funding an infection control nurse cum data manager to build capacity in these areas, and is hopeful that the hospital will continue to build its referral base and expand its volume in the next few years.
