Site Overview
Established on June 30, 1953, Kasturba Medical College is among the top medical colleges in India. The hospital has 1600 beds and 250 full-time doctors. The pediatric oncology unit was established in 2009 and sees around 50 patients per year.

Project Overview
The Foundation team met Dr. Anupama Borkar at the 2010 SIOP meeting in Boston and invited her to join the 3rd Annual IPOI Meeting shortly thereafter. The Foundation is providing funds for a nurse coordinator and a social worker for the center. These two staff will be utilized to increase the department’s capacity to see children and provide more quality care.
