Site Overview
Banaras Hindu University is the largest residential university in Asia. Its Institute of Medical Sciences is a 1200 bed multispecialty, tertiary care teaching hospital. The pediatric hematology-oncology unit began in 2005 with a 6 bed ward, a day care, and a procedure room.
Project Overview
The Foundation began its collaboration with BHU in January of 2011. The grant provides for salary support for a data manager and a social worker. Through this support, BHU will be able to provide holistic patient care by mobilizing funds for patient treatment and by tracking patients being treated to prevent loss to follow up and reduce abandonment rates.
