Who qualifies for a JDF grant?

We accept proposals from charitable organizations and public hospitals or clinics around the world. We also accept proposals from individuals seeking financial assistance for traveling fellowships or advanced training programs.

How do I apply for a grant from JDF?

We currently maintain an open grant request policy and review all proposals as they arrive. You may apply for a grant at any time by filling out our letter of inquiry form. We will review your LOI and set up a time to contact you in order to learn more and begin building a relationship.

What if my organization does not align with one of the JDF focus areas?

You may still apply for a grant, as we occasionally give to causes outside our focus areas when we feel they resonate with the Foundation’s mission and vision.

If my request is accepted, what are my responsibilities as a grantee organization?

As a 501(c)(3) organization, JDF is required by law to fulfill certain obligations to the Internal Revenue Service in order to maintain our tax-exempt status. One of these involves receiving detailed, regular information from our grantees regarding the use of their funding. All grantee organizations submit quarterly reports detailing the project’s progress, and an annual expenditure report. These responsibilities are fulfilled through submission of one narrative report documenting impact and one expense report documenting breakdown of funds used. The Foundation also requests weekly reports from the individual project staff in order to maintain constant contact and better understand how the grant is making an impact.
