Amputee Assistance

Site Overview
The Tropical Health Foundation of India was one of Jiv Daya Foundation’s first amputee assistance partners. The organization runs a Prosthetics and Orthotics workshop and training center in central Kerala, which is one of the only such training programs registered in India that is facilitated by an NGO. They see about 15 new patients a week, and regularly hold camps in the surrounding area to do follow up work.
Project Overview
The official partnership between THFI and JDF came into effect in August 2010, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. The Foundation is currently providing support for a P&O technician and a social worker, who is able to follow up with patients and ensure their well-being over time.
