Site Overview
BMVSS is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Their objective is to provide artificial limbs and calipers to the physically handicapped, in particular the “Jaipur Foot”, a below-knee prosthesis that can be manufactured at a low cost and fitted within 24 hours. The organization fits between 17,000 and 20,000 limbs every year, provided free of charge in line with their focus on the poor.

Project Overview
After seeing the achievements of this organization, which has developed quite a reputation for their low-cost appliances and efficient fitting process, Jiv Daya Foundation partnered with BMVSS to further their capacity to serve large population. Funding was given for distribution of prosthetics and economic aids for self-employment, such as tea stalls and sewing machines. Through the first installment of grant funds alone, over 500 individuals were able to pursue a life of dignity and hope, in keeping with the BMVSS mission of improving quality of life for those living with physical difficulties.
